There is a particular kind of person every industry needs and few possess: the one who can walk into a room crackling with ambition, ego, and uncertainty, and somehow leave it clearer than they found it. In Los Angeles’ entertainment scene — where talent is abundant but grounded perspective is not — that person isBrandon Jay.
Fittingly, today is a day of milestones for him twice over: it’s his birthday, and the occasion arrives alongside a new single release and a major series credit — a convergence that feels less like coincidence than momentum.
As a talent manager at IMA Entertainment, Jay has built a reputation less on flash than on instinct: the ability to read a moment, tell an artist the truth they need rather than the one they want, and steer a career with the kind of patience that doesn’t always photograph well but almost always pays off. “Being a talent manager at IMA Entertainment allows me to bring a vibrant energy to our existing roster of clients,” Jay says — a sentiment that, spend five minutes with him, reads less like a soundbite and more like a mission statement.
MAKING IT, ONSCREEN

That instinct is now getting its due on camera. Brandon Jay joins the new series MAKING IT — where he also serves as an Executive Producer — as its voice of reason: an experienced talent manager offering an industry perspective amid the ambition, unpredictability, and humor of life as a working creative in Los Angeles.
Appearing throughout the series, Jay steps into pivotal moments: joining Marina Lang in the recording studio to offer candid feedback on her music and career direction, and navigating the cast through the often-chaotic world of Hollywood networking. As the show’s creators chase opportunities, question their next moves, and ride the highs and lows of building careers in entertainment, Jay serves as a grounded counterpoint to the chaos — part mentor, part industry insider, and occasionally the person willing to say what no one else in the room will.

It’s a role that culminates alongside the ensemble cast, as their individual journeys begin to turn into tangible career breakthroughs — proof that sometimes the most compelling character in the room isn’t chasing the spotlight, but making sure everyone else finds their way into it.
AND, RIGHT ON CUE — A NEW SOUND
True to his instinct for timing, Jay’s own creative footprint is expanding too. Today marks the release of the “Get In My Ride” remix, featuring GHST, Gasner The Artist, and James Bondurant, now streaming on all platforms — with Brandon Jay himself featured on the track, stepping from behind the manager’s desk and into the booth. Jay also served as songwriter and Executive Producer on the remix, a project that keeps it close to home: both GHST and James Bondurant are represented by IMA Entertainment, Jay’s own management home.
It’s a fitting full-circle moment for a man who spends his days coaching artists through their own creative risks: this time, the risk — and the reward — are his.
THE THROUGHLINE

What emerges across the studio sessions, the network events, and now the release itself, is a consistent thread: Brandon Jay doesn’t just work in the margins of other people’s stories. He shapes them, sharpens them, and — every so often — steps directly into the frame. Not a bad way to spend a birthday.
